Hill Country K9 Club’s Favorite Local Vendors, Service Providers, & Tips

Let’s talk safety & well-being.

Socializing your dog: I have written about how important socializing your dog is on just about every page of this website. And for good reason! Proper socialization literally opens up their world and provides a infinitely better life for them. Our Daycare gives you a great way to socialize your dog in a safe environment, with other trustworthy dogs and experienced people. Dog parks are great places, but you really do not know which dogs will be safe and which won’t…nor can you trust that the owner is able to control their dog’s behavior. Hill Country K9 Club provides a safe, positive experience that introduces your pet to friends they can relate to; friends that recognize them and speak their language!

Fireworks & dogs: I cannot emphasize enough that fireworks and dogs do not mix. So when you know fireworks are going to be used (New Year’s week, 4th of July week), please put your pets inside, close all dog doors, and put on music and white noise. Make sure they cannot escape your home. There are so many dogs lost during these seasons!

Nutrition for dogs: Oh my gosh – one of my favorite subjects in the world! I will write an article on this, but just know you can call or email me if you’re interested and I can guide you! I have done it ALL – especially the research and implementation in this area. It’s not easy to learn the ins-and-outs and know you’re making the right decisions…but it is well worth it.

Let’s talk local favorites.

Veterinarian: We are blessed with so many amazing local vets in our area. My highest recommendation, though, is for Dr. Benji Allredge of Alldredge Mobile Vet. Dr. Allredge is always reachable, reasonably priced, and thorough in practice; all of which provide the utmost peace of mind. He cares for large animals, too!

Dog trainer: Holly Nolen of Obediently Yours Personalized Professional Dog Training. Holly is great to work with and flexible with appointments: She will come to your home to train and address your dog’s behaviors or even move your puppy’s training to a public area which provides a more challenging training environment.

Groomer: Bark Avenue Pet Spa

Pet store: The owners and staff of Dogologie will blow you away with their customer service and selection. This is truly a gem in the Hill Country for doggie lovers. AND…they offer crates in a quiet, climate-controlled area where you can leave your dog while you shop, eat, and enjoy Fredericksburg. They are GREAT people!
