Who We Are

Hi – I’m Julie Brooks. I have owned and operated Spicewood K9 Club since 2009 and Hill Country K9 Club since 2018; working each day to provide dog boarding and dog daycare services in Central Texas. 

With our move to Center Point in June 2018, Hill Country K9 Club services expanded to Kerrville, Center Point, Bandera, Comfort, Boerne, Fredericksburg, Sisterdale and the surrounding areas. And through our Pick-Up & Delivery services, I am still able to provide care for our Spicewood-area clients as well—It thrills me to no end that those customers choose to remain a part of our Hill Country K9 Club family. Thank you!

Despite broadening our service area and the continued support of our very loyal customers, I’ve still managed to keep this business small. When I am not caring for your dogs, my handsome husband, Ashley Brooks, or a family member steps in to help. All have years’ of experience and love dogs at least as much as I do! In short, I offer to my clients exactly what I would expect from the caretakers of my own dogs.

It is this love for the animals that has led to the development of a very strong intuition about them: I am excellent at determining if a dog is able to do well in a social play atmosphere; managing a large pack during play; watching for signs of unwanted behaviors; and remaining the alpha dog in the pack—all of which ensures your beloved pets are 100% safe and comfortable during their stay.

A bit more about me, personally: Before Hill Country K9 Club, I was a mechanical engineer in Austin. It was a great gig—but it wasn’t that much FUN and it did not afford the freedom to do the things I love. Plus I didn’t get to hang out with dogs 24/7. Now I do! And I couldn’t be happier with that blessing.

Also, I would not be me if I didn’t share about my faith in Jesus Christ as Our Lord & Savior. My husband, Ashley, and I attend Cross Kingdom Church in Ingram, TX. My faith is the most KEY thing I can think of to identify myself. So, I just wanted to share this sweet Truth – Jesus Loves YOU. And if you would ever like to hear my testimony of how Jesus has changed my life, I would love to share it with you.

 I am also happy to pray with you anytime, for any reason – You are not ALONE in this world. You have a faithful, loving, merciful, gracious Father who never stops loving you!

Why We Do It

In a nutshell: Because we love dogs. Because we know dogs need a better option than lonely, stressful, secluded kennels. Because dogs, like people, need sunshine, play, exercise, and FUN! Because I am picky and I know you are too.
